kraft dinner watch

Week in and week out, we put together some pretty solid roundups of what’s for sale around the web. On average, I’d say we rock a solid 8 out of 10 on the quality scale. However, some days, we are reminded of the ever-lurking possibility of perfection. Assuming all of these watches will be sold before you reach the end of this paragraph, sit back, and enjoy this faultless list of important timepieces.

Bagelsport Nautilus Homage

It’s not advised that you collect watches for investment purposes, but when a deal is staring you right in the eyes, it’s hard to resist. This, my friends, is one of those deals, and a it’s tremendous one at that. Behold! The awe-inspiring “Nautilus Homage” from the world renowned watchmaker, Bagelsport. By taking an approach to the design that sparks the phenomenon commonly referred to as déjà vu, and adding a considerable amount of exotically worded text to the dial, Bagelsport reminds true aficionados of the independent brand’s eastern roots, all while protecting Bagelsport from the constant looming threat of a copyright infringement lawsuit.

Flip the Nautilus Homage over and take a peak through the display caseback. Instantly, you can see the attention to detail and extra care that is taken by Bagelsport’s master watchmakers when constructing their automatic movements. Only the finest unfinished plates and bridges will do! Bagelsport will not give you any half baked movement finishing (pun courtesy of Dean). Like everything else in the Bagelsport line, it’s a unique and beautifully crafted timepiece, and to see it listed way below market value is a shock. Scoop this up while you can. Bagelsport.

“Mans Rolex Watch- Submariner Osyter Perpetual Date”

fake submariner

We don’t need to tell you how iconic the Rolex Submariner 5513 is, and how essential it is to own one as a serious collector. Here we find a gorgeous Rolex Submariner 1680, which sports a slight update to the classic 5513 by adding a date function. Some may shy away from a Sub with date, but when you find one with all the bells and whistles and then some,  you’d better spring on the opportunity. This version features  a unique “mini” plot dial, nub crown guard, and frosted caseback which rivals the 1680 “Red Sub” in value due to its short run production and outstanding field legibility. Equipped with what appears to be the original bracelet, it does have a fair amount of wear and is possibly missing an end link. Another challenge one can run into when buying vintage or retro watches is servicing. Lucky for you, this seller ensures timing and accuracy of the timepiece with a new battery freshly installed. Prices for this type of package on forums and trusted sites can cost upwards of $8k. Fortunately for you, this one still has a starting bid of $99.99!

Grand Complication- Apple Watch

apple watch

After the recent unveilings at Basel by the powerhouse brands, I find myself dreaming about haute horology and the ability to own a watch with some type of proper complication. I’ve toyed with the idea of  a minute repeater or tourbillon, but I feel they are almost too common for a discerning collector like myself. I want something rare, something unique, and I’ve finally found it.

Before Apple tore up the market with its new wearable tech the Apple Watch, Apple dabbled in complications during the late ’90s, pushing the thresholds of watchmaking. Here we have an original, mint condition Apple Watch from the late ’90s with a rare counter-clockwise movement. While it might fool your eyes and common logic, the unique dial configuration is seldom found with original multicolored Apple logo and BOLD marketing tag line, “Think Different.” To the average collector, this would be overlooked, but these rare details add significant value — similar to a gilt text on a vintage Rolex. You may have some reservations when buying a serious timepiece like this, but you can sleep easy, this one is listed by power seller DansBakeSale, and at a reasonable price for something this rare.

Romain Jerome Skylab 48

romain jerome apollo

Alright, there are gimmicks in the modern watch world, and then there are huge fucking home runs. This my friends is resoundingly the latter. Produced by renowned watchmakers Romain Jerome, this gorgeous and understated piece contains ACTUAL PIECES OF APOLLO 11. As a clear nod to this vaunted space heritage, RJ has decided to place a giant green skull on the dial. For my money, there is no better landing place for the Apollo 11 space craft than inside one of these gorgeous watches. For the low price of $25,000, you are getting a piece of history inside a classically designed, elegant, modern Swiss wristwatch. The movement you ask? That’s a great question. Which I will answer with another question. If you have a piece of history on your wrist, does it matter what the movement is? Exactly. This watch is 48mm of pure class. The eagle has landed, indeed.

U-Boat 1756 Flightdeck Z 55

Ok, lets be real 48mm is a little on the small end of todays modern watches. Quite frankly I consider that size to be more fit for a woman’s watch to tell ya the truth. Well, feast your eyes on this 55mm beauty from Uboat. Long known for their classic reserved aesthetic this watch is no exception to the rule that has made them a staple in the modern gentleman’s watch box. This beauty should have no problem sliding easily under your shirt cuff (assuming you are Gandalf the Grey.) All that and a reliable valjoux 7750 for under 4 grand?! How can you loose?

Donald Trump Watch

trump watch

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t care for co-branded watches. Yet, if the co-branding is done tastefully, exceptions can be made. Enter, the Donald Trump watch. I don’t think much selling will be needed here, but frankly, I can’t help myself. Where should I start? Let’s cut straight to the main attraction: the dial. Most obvious is our soon-to-be-president’s face. You could say it’s a face only a gold-digger could love, but you could also just admire the steely scowl determined to make America great again. As we all know, Trump doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk, and this watch lets you know with its “Proudly Made in USA” stamp at the bottom of the dial. For $16.95, the answer is clear: it’s Time for Trump.

Stauer Corsican Tourbillon

stauer tourbillon

If you’re anything like me, you long for a watch from a brand sold in SkyMall (RIP). Did you know that in order to purchase one of these find timepieces, you don’t have to be bored out of your mind on a domestic flight to Columbus, OH? That’s right, you merely have to head to Stauer’s website in to make this happen. Once you’re there, it’s go big or go home. That’s why you’ll have to send one of these Corsican Tourbillons straight to your shopping cart.

According to Stauer, each Corsican Tourbillon, or CorTour, takes 6 months of engineering to complete. “What’s the catch? There’s gotta be a catch,” you must all be thinking. Nope, no catch. The $1,495 price tag is FOR REAL. If you’re doing the math, 6 months of work and $1,500 doesn’t leave Stauer much profit. They’re practically giving this watch away. Don’t wait for SkyMall to re-start operations, head to Stauer now and pick yourself out a CorTour today.
